Outside of LLC formation, Northwest’s prices are also very competitive. For example, a state specific and pre-filled operating agreement is just $50, and EIN service is also $50. We found Northwest Registered Agent’s pricing to be very competitive with the industry in general, and almost in lock step with ZenBusiness, specifically.

Northwest Registered Agent
Northwest has a LOT of information on their website. Much of it is educational, some of it instructional, and all of it is available to help you make the best decisions possible for your exact situation. Northwest is not as streamlined as ZenBusiness, but it is more substantial and transparent.
For example, Northwest Registered Agent charges $50 to obtain an EIN for your business, but they also provide a very clear, concise instructional page, which explains what an EIN is, why you need one, and how you could procure one yourself, if you’d rather do that. We appreciate this content, because we want to know what’s going on. But if you are the type of person that doesn’t care about the difference between annual report fees in Arizona and California, you might find all this content annoying.
Northwest does a great job of creating transparency in other ways, too. Look at any of their sign up forms. Each one displays a running, itemized price of your order. Most sites try to collect your data before giving you a total. So for us, this makes things a lot easier, because we don’t have to do a lot of scrutinizing or guessing about what services we’re signing up for and how much they cost.
We feel ZenBusiness operates the most streamlined website in the industry. Their promise is “fast and simple,” and they deliver. If you’re there to form an LLC, you’ll be pleased their homepage displays a calming, white screen, along with a search bar to enter the name you hope to use for your company—and not much else. Once you’ve done that, ZenBusiness takes you through a formation process that’s as easy as chatting in a text thread.
The trade off is transparency. ZenBusiness takes you all the way through the formation process before giving you a clear idea of how much your going to pay. If you’re the type of person who likes to know what you’re getting into, you will be annoyed. But if you want to get your business formed with as little muss and fuss as possible, you could do a lot worse than ZenBusiness.
ZenBusiness and Northwest Registered Agent occupy two opposite ends of a spectrum. ZenBusiness is incredibly streamlined and efficient, whereas Northwest Registered Agent is incredibly thorough and educational. Which you prefer may depend on what you’re looking for, although we give the edge to transparent pricing.
Northwest Registered Agent
Instead of customer service agents, Northwest Registered Agent uses “Corporate Guides.” We felt these Corporate Guides earned their name. We contacted them and requested a call back, which we received ten minutes later. The Corporate Guide we spoke with went above and beyond our state cost questions by explaining what annual report fees were and how they should be included when considering overall cost. We were very impressed by Northwest Registered Agent. Our positive experience is mirrored in many customer reviews as well, like this one:
The best thing about ZenBusiness is no hold times. We didn’t wait either time we called, and both times the agent was pleasant and helpful. Both agents we spoke with competently navigated our questions, being careful not to offer legal advice.
We appreciated the service we got from both companies, and when it comes to customer service, reviews across the web agreed. We frankly couldn’t pick a winner. Both ZenBusiness and Northwest Registered Agent provide excellent customer care.
Northwest Registered Agent
Northwest Registered Agent gets great reviews overall. BBB rates them at 4.4/5 and Google rates them at a 4.5/5. Reviewers said over and over how pleased they were with the products, but also how pleased they were with the service.
We checked many ZenBusiness reviews across several sites and found them to be largely favorable. TrustPilot gives ZenBusiness 4.7/5 stars, BBB gives a 4.33/5. Reviewers seemed most impressed by ZenBusiness’s simplicity and by the competence of their customer service. Take these, for example.
Both Northwest Registered Agent and ZenBusiness enjoy solid reviews from customers. For both companies, the bulk of the reviews focused entirely on the quality of care received. When your engaging in something as confusing and intimidating as starting a business, it turns out that a knowledgeable and friendly support system is highly valued by customers.
In some ways, ZenBusiness and Northwest Registered Agent are similar companies. Both offer $39 LLC formation packages that include a free year of registered agent service. Both are well respected companies, provide excellent customer service, and enjoy great public feedback from clients. And we like both companies for this reason.
The difference between them is in their approach. ZenBusiness helps get each customer’s business formed as simply and quickly as possible. Northwest Registered Agent, on the other hand, seeks to help create informed consumers and provide as much transparency and privacy for the client as possible. Which you prefer may just depend on which of those approaches sounds best to you.
